Lesson Policy

Lesson Policy

Cancellation Policy
  1. Students are required to commit to lessons once a week, as our teachers are holding that spot open each week for you. Also, continuity is crucial when studying music for discipline, progress, and growth.
  2. Students will pay for lessons in advance for the entire month, at the beginning of the month.
  3. If a student cancels with less than 24 hours notice, he/she may lose the option to do a makeup lesson entirely (based on situation and prior missed lessons)
  4. If student cancels with more than 24 hours notice, he/she will be allowed a make-up lesson for that week. The make-up lesson must be scheduled at a time of the teacher and student’s mutual availability and must be completed in an appropriate amount of time.
  5. In the event the teacher needs to cancel a lesson due to illness or a special performance commitment, we will cancel with as much advance notice as possible and schedule a make-up lesson time at your convenience.

And, finally, it's important to understand that our teachers have a waiting list of students who want to study with them. If the students miss their lessons, the teacher will lose income that they are relying on to pay bills. I work really hard to find and keep the very best teachers. We pay the teachers whether you show up or not. That policy has helped me to be able to keep my very best teachers here at Los Angeles Music Teachers for a much longer period of time.
