Without knowing your level of musical ability, I think that no matter what level you are, you can safely start with either or both of these two different approaches:
1. One way would be to play the progression using different inversions of the chords as you make smooth stepwise motion in your chord progression. IIf you don’t know how to do that, ask a competent keyboard player. Once you come up with some nice smooth and melodic connections of the chords the melodies will begin to be obvious to you immediately. You probably won’t hear the melody “all at once” but you will hear the basic skeleton and then the more you work with it you can then start to hear how to embellish it and come up with an interesting melody. Don’t think about the theory of what are the correct notes of each chord, just let your ear guide you and try to let it happen organically. The more you work with the progression the easier it will get to hear the notes that work naturally over the chords. 2. The other way would be to set some kind of rhythmic feel with the progression that you may already have in your head, and lay that down on a recorder or GarageBand. After you have a basic feel or groove laid down, you should then play it over and over and start to listen in your head for melodies that come naturally from the progression. Do this over and over and eventually you may even be able to hear the progression even without the recording. If you’re able to hear the whole thing at once in your head then just close your eyes and see if you can hear a melody. Just relax and put it in a loop in your head and eventually you can just start to sing little melodies that you come up with and at that point you’ll want to record them as your experimenting. The more you get the progression in your head the easier you will start to hear an organic melody, rather than just trying to peck something out on the piano or other instrument, it will usually get in the way as you stumble trying to find the notes. Instead, try letting your creative mind work without being distracted by the technique of the instrument. Using your voice in conjunction with your ear is always the most natural and musical way to create music. There’s plenty of other ways to create melodies as well but in general, using your imagination rather than trying to try to play it on an instrument, even if you’re proficient on the instrument, it will tend to get in the way so try using your voice and record it so that you can go back and transcribe it. Your voice does not get in the way (except if you have absolutely no concept of pitch) and by using your voice you are in more direct connection with your creative mind. It’s a skill, but if you practice it on a daily basis you will start to develop your ability to come up with very musical melodies. Los Angeles Music Teachers - [email protected] Music has been soul food for a long time. Good music can bring a positive change in people’s individual lives and in the world. This is why musicians are respected around the globe.
While many musicians have the natural talent for understanding, making, and delivering music, they often seek the help of music lessons to enhance it. The concept of a music school has also become common. There are reputed colleges and universities that feature a music department but specialized schools are available too. A music school offers a great variety of music lessons including mastering different musical instruments. Some people will turn towards platforms like YouTube to get musical knowledge but nothing beats the skills and experience of a professional music teacher. If you don’t have access to the best music school or would like to learn within a comfortable environment, you can choose private music lessons. Parents interested in teaching their kids music from an early age will greatly benefit from such an option. If you have decided on private music lessons for yourself or the children, then hiring a reputable music teacher is quite important. Not all teachers share the same capability. Here is how you can hire the best music teacher: Questions Before Hiring The appropriate questions will help compare different teachers and shortlist the best. Questions should be regarding the qualifications and experience. If the teacher is for a child, they should have experience in teaching music to children. Also, ensure that your child will be comfortable and safe with a particular person. The teacher should be able to convey basic music knowledge like the CAGED system and how scales are made. Ask questions regarding the teaching techniques too. Taking Trial Lessons Trial lessons are a great way to find the best music teacher. It is an effective method to get familiar with the teaching method of a particular teacher. In case you or the child is not comfortable with the teaching approach, then you can quit before you end up learning music badly. In case of a child, you can also attend the trial lesson to assess the situation better. Evaluate the Trial Experience The trial lesson experience should be evaluated from both perspectives i.e. the teacher and the learner. If your child is the learner, discuss how well they liked the lesson and if they were able to understand the teacher. When discussing with the teacher, ask them if the student has a significant interest in learning music (recommended if the student is a child) and how much time it will take to learn the basics. If you don’t have the best music school within easy access for yourself or a child, simply run a Google search of ‘music lessons near me’. You are likely to find music teachers that are available for private lessons. You will not regret spending time on finding the best music teacher as it is not wasted. The best teacher can give you the true insight into the world of music. Please call 818-209-2620 or reach us at [email protected] Instructor spotlight - Manoela Wunder

Rick Rossi, the owner, screens all prospective candidates and makes sure they have the required education and experience. Quality control is critical for Rick with Los Angeles Music Teachers so that students will never be disappointed. Although a particular instructor might not be the right fit for you or your child, we have never gotten complaints about any teacher not being qualified enough. We make sure our professionals are able to teach a variety of styles and, most importantly, what each student wants to learn. It’s also critical for Rick that the teacher is a highly skilled and active performer, as he believes that is inspiring for pupils and provides them with an opportunity not only to see their instructor live in action in one of the most musically fruitful cities in the world but also provides them with an extra layer of depth to their lessons. Here at Los Angeles Music Teachers, we strive to make each student performance ready, whether they are just playing for their friends or family or want to start a band and eventually become professionals. In order to do so, though, they must only learn from the best. There is way too much competition in Los Angeles for you to settle for anything other than the highest quality. We pride in offering competitive prices without compromising on quality. Our students vary in level from elementary to senior, however one thing they have in common is being inspired during their lessons. If they are not constantly reminded of their love for music and their instrument and inspired to keep growing every week, they will not want to put in the practice time needed at home. It is easy for them because they are always having fun while learning. We do not overwhelm them with technical exercises and scales, but rather have them warm up and soon be playing so they feel like they are accomplished in the instrument, whether they are beginners or advanced students. If you have any questions about our instructors with Los Angeles Music Teachers or teaching methods, please do not hesitate to call us at (818) 902-1233. For more information, please visit http://www.losangelesmusicteachers.com or CALL US NOW at (818) 902-1233 You’ve decided to learn an instrument, that’s a wonderfully fulfilling project and one that will provide you a lifetime of joy! You probably have your instrument at this point, and now it’s time to start looking for a music teacher in Los Angeles. Here are some helpful tips for questions you can ask so you know what to look for:
1. Find out your teacher’s history. Ask for a short bio and find out where they’ve performed and how long they’ve taught for. You want someone with a healthy balance of performing and teaching, because you want them to be able to demonstrate techniques. If they haven’t been performing for a while, they’re probably going to explain everything to you rather than show you. If you’re more of a visual learning, that won’t work too well. 2. Ask them what styles they specialize in. You want a teacher to be able to teach a variety of styles, and you should know what your preferred style is. Tell them what you’re interested in learning and find out how they would go about getting you to play your favorite kind of music. 3. Find out if they use any method books. You want to have a better idea of how the lesson will be structured. Take a look at the method book beforehand if you can. If you don’t know how to read music, ask how your teacher will incorporate music theory in the lesson. 4. Find out what their expectations for you are. You need to know exactly how much time you can dedicate to the instrument a week. Tell your teacher that and make sure they feel comfortable with that. 5. Ask for online resources. They might be able to point you to some valuable learning tools before the lesson so you can be more familiar with music terms or technique. I hope you feel more comfortable in your search now! As a reminder, you can ask for a discounted trial lesson but usually a trial lesson is the full price of the lesson. Every teacher has their own policy; some give a shorter trial lesson. Expecting a free trial lesson from a music teacher in Los Angeles is very unrealistic unless it’s a big school with a lot of overhead. There is a lot of investment and time that goes into each new student. Thanks for reading! How can I start creating melody that goes with my chord progression?

Looking for a music teacher in Burbank could be daunting, especially if you are unsure of the process or finding the best one. Where to start or what to look for are things you need to be aware of when starting your search. If you have had a previous uninspiring Burbank music teacher or one who did not teach you things you were interested in learning, perhaps you didn't go about your search appropriately. Here are some pointers to ensure an accurate search:
Where/how to begin? Talk to close friends and family about music teachers they have had in the past or heard of within your community. Never start with an online search only, and also ask your loved ones what their experience has been. Music stores and as music teacher organizations in the Burbank area will also have recommendations. If you have a few in mind, set an appointment for an interview. Meeting them will aid you in knowing if you are at ease with them and them with you. This will also provide you with the chance to ask them any questions you might have. What to ask in an Interview? It’s always good to know the background of the music teacher, and what experience he or she does have. Does he/she provide recitals, festivals and competitions as performance opportunities? What are their expectations from the student? Make sure you tell them your expectations as well. Your teacher needs to be a real musician with vast and diverse performing and teaching experience. After all, you wouldn't allow yourself to be taught by someone who has studied music from a book but who has never been tried to sing in front of the crowd. When your teacher shows you their performance resume, it provides you with some assurance that he or she is of a high enough standard musically and proficient enough on their instrument. Teaching experience is a crucial factor when looking for a music teacher in Burbank. After discussing how important it is for your music teacher to be involved in music, it’s also essential that he or she has vast experience teaching music. Teaching is a totally diverse art to performing. Many musicians say they learn more from teaching than from any other source. Finding the best music teacher in Burbank will provide you with the experience and education you want. Knowing where to begin your search and what to ask a teacher once you have found one is extremely essential. It will help you grow in musicality and talent. Music is not just an art but a medium to express feelings which cannot be expressed in words. It is a way to pour your emotions and let others feel the intensity you have within. It is often said that musicians are born and cannot be created, which is true to some extent but not completely. Every person born in this world is creative in their own way; all they need is proper guidance to polish their skills and become better musicians.
When we look at all the established musicians, we are inspired but a lot of times don’t realize that there are years of hard work and guidance of some great music teachers. This is the reason why you need to consider choosing the best teachers for your musical future. Los Angeles Music Teachers is defining new boundaries and making music easy for beginners. Over the years, music has progressed a lot and only professionals know how the basics can help you become a far better musician. We, Los Angeles Music Teachers, are not just making claims of being the best music teachers in town, but the people who have attended our classes think that way. We have a 5-star rating on Google and are one of the best music teachers in the area. Rick Rossi is not just a music teacher but an artist who knows how to bring out the best musician in a person. With extensive knowledge of the music progressions and years of experience, Rick has developed his own ways of teaching music. One of the students, Kevin J believes that Rick’s lessons helped improve his sound in a very short period of time. The basic approach adopted by Rick Rossi is conveying the difference between composition and improvisation that many students find helpful. The composition is a straightforward pattern in which a song progresses. However, improvisation is the beautiful twists in a song within the same scale that adds beauty to that particular song. This is the reason why improvisation is the most important component in any genre of music. Most of our students want to learn saxophone. This musical instrument is gaining more popularity because of its soulful sound. This is the main instrument that our students want to learn from Rick Rossi, who is considered the maestro of the saxophone. Having played with established musicians from all around the world, Rick Rossi is committed to developing that unique element to the sound of young musicians. We don’t want to simply create long time customers but musicians who can leave their mark with their music. This is the reason why we try to complete the basic improvisation course as soon as possible. The power of positivity Los Angeles Music Teachers are spreading in this world is unmatchable and inspiring a lot of young musicians in the city. The best music lessons in Burbank
